Ensemble 4.1.193.0

The next Ensemble update will have some exciting new changes including speed improvements, an updated look and improved security of the Live Teacher and Live Parent sign in process.

This Ensemble update will be slightly different to the previous updates we have released. The 4.1.193.0 update will be available from the 4th April. However, we will be turning off automatic updates as you will need to update your .NET Framework before using the new version of Ensemble.

.NET is a programming framework that developers can use to create applications more easily. For more information on what.NET is visit our website here.

Once you have updated your .NET Framework to .NET 4.6.1, please confirm this to us by emailing support@paritor.co.uk and we can then arrange with you when to update your Ensemble.

This update is in line with our ongoing commitment to security as Microsoft ended support for .Net 4, 4.5 and 4.5.1 from January 2016. This means that users no longer have access to technical support and security updates from Microsoft.

Ensemble 4.1.193.0

As well as the update of the .NET framework, we would also like to tell you about the updated new look that will be available after the update taking place from the 4th April.

Ensemble will still work the exact same way however, the colour schemes will change and gradient will be gone. Instead it will be replaced with a solid black theme or a white theme.



The black theme will be the software’s default, this is because dark web designs have become increasingly popular in recent years, thanks to their striking visual impact and creative appeal. Many modern Android and Windows apps are designed with dark backgrounds, reflecting the recent trend towards bold, contemporary styling.

As well as the new styling, our developers are also in the process of speeding up certain processes. You should see a change in the speed of group memberships, schedules and teacher pay with this update. As well as speed improvements in other areas with future updates.

Ensemble 4.1.193.0

Alongside the new look and speed improvements that will feature in the next update, we are also increasing the security around Live Teacher and Live Parent. From the 4th April we be using Microsoft’s Azure Identity and Access Management system to ensure that your profile remains protected through various security controls.

We have switched to Microsoft Azure’s Identity and Access Management system as part of our ongoing commitment to security.

As a result of this, all users of Live Teacher and Live Parent may be prompted to re-authenticate when they log in after Ensemble has been updated. This is due to Microsoft Azure’s two factor authentication process.

Users will be emailed a link which will take them through to a registration page. They will then be asked to fill out the details where they can either use any email address or they can register using existing social accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and LinkedIn). Once the user has registered they will be sent an email containing a token which they will be asked to input online. This will authenticate them and associate them with the music service with which they are affiliated.

We will contact users of Live Parent and Live Teacher around the time of the update with the registration link, asking them to re-enter their credentials.

Ensemble 4.1.193.0

We have recently informed users of the update that was due to be available from the 4th April. After customer feedback, however, we understand that not all users can update to .NET 4.6.1. As we want to ensure that all of our customers can benefit from the update we are changing the software to allow compatibility with .NET 4.5.2. This does mean that we will need to change the code and thoroughly test the software before releasing it. As a result we are going to have to push back the release date of the update to the 11th April.

Bugs that we know about, when they'll be fixed and how to get around them in the meantime.

No software is without bugs and now and then the pesky pests infiltrate Ensemble too. When that happens, we start working on bug removal straight away. Below is a handy list of known bugs and some temporary workarounds for them.

Error: 'Invisible Control'

The error message is thrown when double clicking on the schedule tab after opening a record card. To prevent the error message, only click once.

Changes to resources not being calculated in the billing

Any changes made to resources on hire/loan are not taken into account when the billing is calculated and processed. We recommend ending the Hire/loan and creating a new one with the changes taken into account.

Event Billing Adjustments in School Billing

When adding in a new School Billing Adjustment the option of Event is available. This isn't a factor that's calculated in School Billing. We would recommend selecting an alternative option, Tuition or Resource hire. Any Billing Adjustments that have been added for Events will not pull through and a new one will need to be created to cover this.
